Job summary

Peraton seeks a Senior Systems Engineer in San Antonio, TX, to lead end-to-end network systems engineering for cloud operations. You will review requirements, design architectures, implement networks, and guide hardware choices to deliver scalable, reliable solutions for mission-critical programs.

The role requires 20 years of SE experience, active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, and DoD 8570/8140 certification (CISSP preferred).

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required.
• Twenty (20) years of experience as a Systems Engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required (Five (5) additional years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree).
• Experience supporting the customer’s Mission Systems is required.
• Ability to analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
• Demonstrated experience planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.
• DoD 8570/8140 certification required, preferably a CISSP.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with engineering and network teams to translate customer requirements into technical solutions.
• Designing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining network infrastructure.
• Developing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
• Providing detailed guidance on hardware selection and implementing techniques and tools to deliver efficient, scalable solutions that meet both current and future capacity requirements.
• Demonstrating expertise across network hardware and interconnections, including routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, and gateways.
• Designing and implementing failover solutions for major customers.
