Job summary

Peraton is seeking a senior Linux system administrator to administer and secure large-scale, distributed environments across on‑premises and AWS cloud resources. You will partner with ISSOs/ISSEs to maintain SSP compliance, automate tasks, and support data flows between environments.

The role requires 10+ years in large-scale systems, strong scripting, and deep knowledge of security controls. An active TS/SCI w/Poly is required. Expect on-call rotations and collaboration with multiple teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of system administration and monitoring in large distributed environments.
• Experience administering and supporting 150+ node sites and multi-cluster environments.
• 10+ years diagnosing and troubleshooting large-scale cloud computing environments.
• 10+ years scripting in Bash, Perl, or Python.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain Linux OSs (RHEL, Amazon Linux) with security controls.
• Collaborate with ISSOs/ISSEs to meet compliance requirements.
• Maintain SSP compliance, manage vulnerability scans, and logs.
• Manage AWS resources (EC2, RDS, S3) and cloud security policies.
• Configure AWS networking (VPCs, API Gateways, Route 53).
• Support cloud-native tech (Step Functions, ECS, Lambda) for deployment/automation.
• Implement identity solutions (GATEKEEPER, CASPORT, PKI).
• Configure Nginx, Podman, OpenSSL, PostgreSQL clients, AWS CLI.
• Develop automation with Ansible and Puppet; use Git for source control.
• Troubleshoot data flows across environments (eVo, WandS).
