RTX is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to drive the design, integration and sustainment of advanced training systems for military platforms at our Sterling, VA site. You will work across multidisciplinary teams in a defense context, with responsibilities spanning requirements development, design, verification and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience with capture, analysis and decomposition of system requirements.
• Understanding of the Product Development Lifecycle from CONOPS to Sustainment.
• MBSE design tools (Enterprise Architect, Cameo) using SysML.
• Ability to obtain/maintain required security clearance in a classified environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Requires on-site presence in a classified lab space.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering activities across full lifecycle of training systems (requirements, design, integration, test, sustainment).
• Interface with customers, program managers and stakeholders to align technical solutions with mission requirements.
• Ensure training systems represent aircraft mission systems (radar, comms, C2).
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and simulation engineers to integrate subsystems.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies for performance and delivery.
• Support upgrades, modifications and obsolescence management.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive process improvements.
