Job summary

RTX’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities team seeks a Senior Systems Engineer for on-site work in Dulles, Virginia. You will lead hands-on development and integration of electro‑optical technologies within complex automated systems for research, development, and field operations.

The role requires full lifecycle engineering—from design to sustainment—plus test planning and hardware‑in‑the‑loop activities. Domestic/international travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science/Technology/Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience in ConOps, requirements management, functional analysis, and interface control.
• Active DoD/secret clearance or ability to obtain one; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Interface with customers and management across multiple disciplines.
• Conduct system performance analysis and risk mitigation strategies.
• Create and decompose requirements, define interfaces, and validate with test.
• Perform integration, verification, and testing of hardware and software.
• Travel up to 25% domestically/internationally as needed.
