Job summary

Wabtec in the United States is seeking a Systems Engineer to collaborate with cross-functional teams and railroad customers to deliver advanced train automation solutions that drive efficiency and value.

The role centers on leading design, development, integration, and deployment of Train Handling solutions, defining requirements, performing trade studies, and ensuring quality through verification, validation, and field testing, while applying AI-enabled capabilities to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, or CS required.
• 5+ years hands-on design, requirements development, and implementation experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, integration, testing, and enhancement of Train Handling solutions.
• Elicit, analyze, define, and manage customer and system requirements.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Software Engineering, Train Control, Safety, Validation, and Applications teams.
• Drive requirements and design reviews, technical assessments, and verifications.
• Analyze system performance to identify root causes and implement fixes.
• Plan and execute field testing, validation, and operational evaluations.
