Job summary

Wabtec Corporation seeks a Systems Engineer to lead design, development, integration, and deployment of Train Handling solutions. You will define requirements, perform trade studies, and drive verification and validation, collaborating across Product Management, Software, Train Control, and Safety teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on design, requirements development and implementation experience involving; Engineering Systems, Hardware / Software Engineering, and/or Data Information Systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally

Responsibilities

• Lead portions of the design, development, integration, and deployment of Train Handling solutions.
• Define and manage system requirements, conduct trade studies, and coordinate verification and validation activities.
• Contribute to product strategy and feature development.
• Apply AI-enabled tools to accelerate analysis and improve engineering productivity.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Software Engineering, Train Control, Safety, Validation, and Applications Engineering.
• Plan field testing, validation, and operational evaluations to meet performance requirements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and system specifications.
• Translate operational challenges into effective technical solutions for railroad customers.
• Leverage industry standards and best practices to improve product capabilities and reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement through AI-enabled analytics and automation.
