Job summary

Northrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 5 to join our team in Morrisville, NC. The role involves defining requirements, interfaces, and architecture for ground segment functions and working within an Agile team environment.

You will develop, integrate, and test software segments, drive verification planning, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure mission-focused delivery.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance (or equivalent) at time of application
• 12+ years of engineering experience with a BS, 10+ with a MS, or 8+ with a PhD in STEM
• 2+ years of experience with MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering)
• 2+ years of experience using No Magic Cameo or equivalent
• Experience with space-vehicle, command-and-control, mission management, mission data processing, or software subsystems
• Demonstrated written and oral communications skills through requirements, test, and evaluation criteria
• 2+ years of Systems Engineering processes and artifacts development for SW, including use cases, interface docs, diagrams, schemas, and REST/HTTP protocols
• Experience with Agile programs and methodology

Responsibilities

• Drive development and execution of features for the satellite ground systems domain
• Participate in working groups to translate customer needs into digital artifacts
• Support and lead verification planning, test requirements, and related products
• Cover domains of requirements, interfaces, architecture, design, integration, and test
• Engage in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews
• Provide SME in Space-Vehicle C2 System areas and collaborate with teams
• Conduct demos and briefings for customers and senior leadership
• Ensure integration of capabilities with ground satellite software solutions
• Utilize Jira/Confluence for project tracking and knowledge management
• Support milestones and Agile product increments
• Engage with multiple working groups and control boards
• Tailor responsibilities based on skillset and experience
