Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 2 in Morrisville, NC to join a sprint team developing ground segment software for space missions. You will define requirements, interfaces, and system architectures in an Agile environment, using MBSE, CAMEO, SysML, and the Atlassian tool set; TS/SCI clearance is preferred.

The role offers challenging work with mission-focused deliverables and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in STEM with 2+ years of engineering experience.
• Active TS clearance at time of application and ability to maintain.
• Experience with MBSE and Cameo tooling.
• Experience in space-vehicle, command-and-control, mission management, or software subsystems.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience delivering software artifacts: use cases, interface control documents, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, database design, and REST/HTTP/RESP.
• Experience with Agile programs and Jira/Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Drive development and execution of features for satellite ground systems.
• Participate in working groups and translate needs into digital artifacts.
• Support and/or lead verification planning and test requirements.
• Work across disciplines: requirements, interfaces, architecture, design, integration and test.
• Engage in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and reviews.
• Provide SME in space-vehicle C2 areas and collaborate with teams.
• Demonstrate capabilities to customers and leadership; conduct demos.
• Ensure integration of capabilities with ground satellite software; use Jira/Confluence.
• Support milestones and Agile product increments; engage with control boards.
• Tailor responsibilities based on skillset and project needs.
