Job summary

GRVTY is seeking a Systems Engineer to join an agile, multi-team effort supporting mission-critical satellite ground systems. You will translate high-level concepts into detailed artifacts and own the technical definition from concept through automated verification and sell-off.

You will work embedded within an agile team to refine the backlog, define acceptance criteria, and ensure software features align with mission objectives, using MBSE, SysML, and Jira/Confluence to maintain traceability

Qualifications

• Active or current Top-Secret clearance with SCI access and polygraph (TS/SCI with poly).
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of relevant engineering experience (or Master’s with 3+ years).
• Practical experience in satellite ground systems, Command and Control (C2), and mission management systems.
• Demonstrated experience building or evaluating behavioral and structural models using MBSE and SysML tools.
• Proven ability to author technical specifications for software developers (sequence diagrams, message schemas, ICDs, REST/HTTP).
• Hands-on experience with Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence) for backlog refinement and traceability.

Responsibilities

• Translate mission needs into actionable digital engineering artifacts (use cases, ICDs, data schemas).
• Develop MBSE models (SysML) to drive software design and traceability.
• Refine backlog within an agile team and align software features with mission objectives.
• Define and review software interfaces, data structures, and messaging schemas (REST/HTTP).
• Create verification plans and collaborate with testers for automated validation.
• Participate in TEMs, working groups, and interface control boards with documented artifacts.
