Job summary

HENSOLDT UK, trading as Kelvin Hughes Limited, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Systems Engineering group in Enfield. The role involves working on state‑of‑the‑art solid‑state radar projects, with responsibilities spanning design, integration, testing and lifecycle management.

You will collaborate across software, mechanical and electrical disciplines, mentor junior colleagues, and travel as required. A UK driving licence and eligibility for security clearance are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience of systems design, integration & test.
• Good understanding of systems and product lifecycles from concept through delivery.
• Strong grasp of a range of engineering disciplines (software, mechanical, electrical).
• Knowledge of risk management from conception to project acceptance.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all organisational levels and externally.
• Capability to mentor junior colleagues.
• Flexibility to apply skills across multiple projects and products.
• Computer-literacy with a high standard of written English, capable of compiling accurate, detailed technical proposals, specifications and reports.
• Willingness to travel; travel is required; based at Enfield premises but requires business travel as needed.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Eligible to apply for UK security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to systems design, integration and test activities.
• Understand and implement lifecycle processes from concept through delivery.
• Engage across software, mechanical and electrical disciplines as needed.
• Assist with risk management from concept to project acceptance.
• Prepare technical proposals, specifications and reports with clear English.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across projects.
• Travel to customer sites or other locations as required.
