Pure Storage seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Public Sector, Defence and Defence Industrial Base team as a senior pre-sales partner to Account Executives and partners across the UK and Ireland. You will help government and defence customers understand how our storage and data platform solve mission-critical challenges from discovery to close.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in pre-sales, systems engineering or similar client-facing technical role with public sector/defence exposure.
• Strong storage and infrastructure fundamentals; storage experience preferred.
• Knowledge of block, file and object storage and related technologies (FC, iSCSI, NAS, SAN, virtualization).
• Familiarity with UK government procurement frameworks and security considerations is valuable.
• Ability to lead discovery and engage with senior customers, prospects and partners.
• Experience working with channel partners and defence primes is highly valuable.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives on public sector and defence opportunities, guiding discovery and shaping solutions.
• Lead senior technical discussions, mentor other SEs, and provide technical direction.
• Translate requirements into architectures, proposals, sizing, quotes, and concepts.
• Run presentations, demos, workshops, and follow-up sessions remotely or on-site across the UK and Ireland.
• Enable and coach channel partners through workshops to position solutions in the public sector and defence markets.
• Validate technical fit across storage architectures and security requirements for government and defence environments.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a strong buying experience for public sector stakeholders.
• Participate in training, pipeline reviews, and knowledge sharing on public sector procurement.
