Job summary

Becton, Dickinson, and Company (BD) is seeking a Sr Staff Systems Engineer to lead design, development, and maintenance of pharmacy automation products within the Vial and Central Solutions portfolio. The role emphasizes system integrity, performance, and lifecycle stewardship in a regulated healthcare environment.

You will drive requirements, risk analyses, and validation efforts while collaborating with software, hardware, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field related to biomedical engineering or electrical/computer science.
• 8+ years of progressive systems engineering experience in electromechanical/robotics products.
• Experience with risk management and regulatory-aligned product development.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering activities across vial and central solutions from concept to post-market support.
• Define and document system requirements, architecture, and design specs for regulated environments.
• Perform risk assessments, FMEA, and hazard analyses for complex systems.
• Develop verification and validation plans and protocols for robust testing.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and cross-functional teams to enable integration.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
• Contribute to process improvements in systems engineering and participate in audits.
