Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Sunnyvale, CA seeks a Systems Engineer Level 4 to develop and sustain propulsion and power generation systems for the US Navy. The role emphasizes collaboration, continuous learning, and automation, with a focus on MBSE, DOORS, and model-based engineering.

You will lead or participate in reviews, manage requirements, and ensure traceability across hardware and software designs. This onsite position requires US citizenship and security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years relevant experience; or Master’s with 6 years; or PhD with 4 years.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience with requirements and interface management.
• Familiarity with system drawings and documents such as Interface Control Documents and VCRM.
• Experience with system engineering tools such as IBM Rational DOORS.
• Familiarity with MBSE concepts and tools.
• US Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability analyses for total systems.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Create and update System/sub-system specifications in DOORS and maintain verification traceability.
• Update system drawings and documents like Interface Control Documents.
• Coordinate preparation and execution of SRR, PDR, CDR, IRR, TRR reviews.
• Support the development of Model Based System Engineering products.
