Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Engineer Systems – Level 3 to join the Propulsion Systems & Controls (PS&C) business unit at Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Elkton, MD.

You will lead systems architecture for propulsion hardware, develop MBSE models, and coordinate across engineering, program management, and external partners.

The role requires a secret clearance, strong communication, and experience with requirements management and MBSE tools.

Qualifications

• Experience performing systems engineering activities on technical programs (requirements, design, integration, or test).
• Experience with MBSE methods and SysML-based models.
• Experience with requirements development and management, including traceability.
• Experience leading technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and coordinate between engineering disciplines, program management, and external stakeholders to ensure an integrated solution.
• Determine systems engineering tasks required for project planning and execution, communicate milestones and need dates to program leads.
• Produce and maintain key systems engineering artifacts (requirements specifications, ICDs, V&V matrices, architecture) in a model-based environment.
• Define and plan propulsion testing activities, including testing at Elkton campus and other locations.
• Define and maintain a requirements decomposition strategy across subsystems and disciplines.
• Lead requirements and architecture reviews (PDR, CDR-level artifacts) for completeness and testability.
• Lead Risk and Opportunity meetings for the technical and programmatic teams.
