Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer Systems – Level 4 to join our Propulsion Systems & Controls unit at Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Elkton, MD. You will help develop system architectures for propulsion hardware including valves, motors, and spacecraft power units, guiding MBSE efforts across disciplines.

The role involves lifecycle development from design to test, collaboration with Navy, Air Force, and partners, and leading critical reviews and verification activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM fields.
• 8+ years of relevant systems engineering experience or 6+ with MS or 4+ with PhD.
• Experience performing MBSE and systems architecture activities.
• Experience with MBSE tools (SysML) and requirements traceability.
• Experience leading reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and cross-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across engineering disciplines and stakeholders.
• Define and plan systems engineering tasks for project milestones.
• Produce and maintain MBSE artifacts and architecture documents.
• Plan and coordinate propulsion tests and related verification activities.
• Lead requirements decomposition, reviews, and risk/opportunity discussions.
