Job summary

Activ Surgical is building a platform for visualizing surgical procedures with AI-powered decision support. As a Senior or Staff System Engineer, you will own system-level requirements, architecture, and interfaces across hardware and software.

You will translate clinical and product needs into verifiable requirements, drive end-to-end verification, and collaborate with hardware, software, optics, and AI teams to ensure safe, reliable platform performance.

Qualifications

BS/MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience.
Proven experience producing system artifacts: requirements, system architecture diagrams, ICDs, and traceability matrices.
Experience integrating multi-disciplinary subsystems (hardware, software, optics, AI) into a cohesive product.
Familiarity with medical device development standards (IEC 62304, IEC 60601, ISO 13485, ISO 14971).
Experience planning and executing system-level verification and validation activities.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across engineering domains.
Excellent communication skills with hardware, software, and clinical teams.
