Job summary

Activ Surgical, Inc. is seeking a Senior or Staff System Engineer in Boston to own system-level requirements, architecture, and integration across hardware, software, optics, and AI for the platform.

You will translate clinical needs into verifiable system requirements and drive end-to-end verification and validation to ensure safety and reliability. The role requires strong cross-disciplinary collaboration with hardware, software and clinical teams, and familiarity with medical device standards

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical or related discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience producing systems engineering artifacts: requirements docs, system architecture diagrams, ICDs, and traceability matrices.
• Experience integrating hardware, software, optics and AI into a cohesive product.
• Familiarity with medical device development standards: IEC 62304, IEC 60601, ISO 13485, ISO 14971.
• Experience planning and executing system-level verification and validation activities.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills spanning multiple engineering domains.
• Excellent communication to work with hardware, software and clinical teams.
