Job summary

Target is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Minnesota to maintain and optimize material handling systems and building automation. You will lead automation initiatives, troubleshoot equipment, and collaborate with engineers to ensure maximum uptime across the facility.

The role requires 24/7 availability, strong PLC/controls experience, and a focus on safety and continuous improvement within a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Two or four-year degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering or equivalent.
• Willing to work all days and shifts (24/7 operation).
• Industrial electrical hands-on experience with 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems.
• Experience with installing and maintaining software and hardware.
• Strong organization and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building and material handling equipment (MHE).
• Lead automation, building controls, and new installation initiatives.
• Train and coach technicians; conduct technical interviews.
• Ensure safety procedures and PPE usage; manage safety risks.
• Monitor equipment health and perform root-cause analysis during downtime.
