Job summary

Target is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to drive the activation of complex material handling projects. You will ensure installations meet performance standards and are handed over to operations.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Vendor teams to deliver world-class automated systems. The role requires leading design through acceptance testing, coordinating internal and external resources, and maintaining alignment with safety and engineering standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in material handling, automation, manufacturing, or distribution/logistics.
• Proven PM experience delivering complex capital equipment & systems.
• Subject matter expert in automated material handling systems (conveyors, sortation, robotics).
• Expert in electrical safety, power distribution, industrial controls, and SCADA.

Responsibilities

• Lead activation of complex supply chain projects, delivering on-time, high-performance MHE systems.
• Direct internal and external engineering resources from design to acceptance and turnover.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, validation, and cross-functional alignment across teams.
• Manage schedules, costs, and resources to meet milestones.
• Collaborate with vendors, operations, safety, and facilities to ensure compliance.
