Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for the System Definition & Certification team. You will own requirements, safety, and verification baseline for a major vehicle area, leading analysis, architecture decisions, and anomaly investigations.

Responsibilities include driving lean engineering processes, mentoring engineers, and serving as the technical interface across IPTs and with partners. Horizon includes lunar vehicle systems and safety-critical certification aspects.

Qualifications

• B.S. in aerospace, systems, or related engineering field; an advanced degree may substitute part of experience.
• 8+ years of systems engineering experience with ownership across requirements, safety and V&V.
• Experience as a Responsible Engineer across a major vehicle area or seams between areas.
• Track record of anomaly investigations and root-cause analysis with corrective actions.
• Ability to drive lean engineering processes and adopt them without formal authority.
• Fluency with SE tooling (Jama, Cameo, Windchill, DOORS) and tool-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior systems engineer and Responsible Engineer owning requirements, safety, and V&V baseline.
• Lead requirements analysis, decomposition, and allocation; shape architecture decisions.
• Own verification & validation approach for your area and lead anomaly investigations.
• Set risk-based disposition standards for variances and deviations.
• Develop lean, tool-driven processes for requirements, safety, and V&V adoption.
• Act as working-level technical interface across IPTs and with customers/partners.
• Mentor engineers and set technical direction for your scope.
