Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior systems engineer to join the Lunar Permanence team, focusing on requirements, verification & validation, and safety baselines for human lander programs. You’ll translate vehicle needs into clear requirements, drive the technical baseline, and enable lean, data-driven status reporting across vehicle teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. in aerospace, systems, or related engineering field; M.S. preferred.
• 8+ years of systems engineering/engineering-operations in a technical, regulated environment.
• Experience developing requirements, safety, and V&V baselines.
• Experience planning and executing projects to cost and schedule.
• Lean, tool-driven processes; adoption without direct authority.
• Proficiency with SE/program tooling: Jama, Cameo, Windchill, DOORS, Jira, Confluence.
• Strong stakeholder management across engineering, program, and leadership.
• U.S. citizen or eligible for U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Participate in requirements, verification & validation planning and anomaly investigations.
• Develop and refine technical requirements for major program projects.
• Translate vehicle needs into clear requirements across vehicle teams.
• Improve operational and project-execution processes for efficiency.
• Plan and track major milestones (e.g., CDR) with readiness criteria and scheduling.
