Nova Biomedical is seeking a hands-on Senior Systems Engineer in Norwood, MA to lead development, integration, characterization, and ownership of advanced laboratory instrumentation. You will drive system requirements, design experiments, analyze data, and mentor engineers while collaborating with mechanical, electrical, software, and verification teams.

The role emphasizes robust, reliable products, risk reduction, and long-term performance with a hybrid work setup and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience developing complex products or instrumentation systems.
• Demonstrated success leading technical investigations from problem identification through resolution.
• Experience using experimental methods and engineering studies to evaluate performance and risk.
• Experience integrating and troubleshooting multidisciplinary systems (mechanical, electrical, software, thermal, fluidic).
• Ability to independently lead technical workstreams and deliver results with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and integration of complex subsystems and system-level features for laboratory instrumentation.
• Develop, refine, and maintain system and subsystem requirements.
• Design and execute experiments, test plans, protocols, and studies to evaluate feasibility and characterize performance.
• Analyze results to identify root causes, improve reliability, and reduce risks.
• Support architecture activities, interface definition, and trade studies throughout development.
• Document findings via reports and design reviews.
