Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to support the JPALS program, focusing on GPS navigation system algorithm development and model-based testing using MATLAB/Simulink.

The role involves running and testing models, documenting equations, and performing data analysis. Travel up to 10% and field-work are required as part of the position onsite at US facilities.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Experience in reading and developing algorithm descriptions, mathematical expressions and derivations, matrix manipulations, outlier analysis, and system level analysis.
• Professional background specializing in performing complex statistical analysis and/or mathematical modeling (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Test algorithms and models for the JPALS program.
• Develop the necessary tools to accomplish sufficient testing.
• Work on multiple tasks in a software development environment.
• Conduct analysis for system trouble shooting.
• Improve code quality by performing code reviews and good software practice.
• Analyze data using advanced mathematical and statistical techniques.
• Willingness to travel 10% and do field-work.
