Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Systems Engineer Associate to join the JPALS Algorithms team in Cedar Rapids. The role focuses on modeling and testing algorithms using Simulink and MATLAB, with emphasis on documenting equations and performing data analysis. Lab-based contributions on target products are included.

The successful candidate will work with limited supervision, collaborate across teams, and may provide guidance and training. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in MATLAB with focus on numerical stability.
• Experience reading and developing algorithm descriptions and derivations.
• Exposure to systems engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

• Test Algorithms and models for the JPALS program
• Develop tools to enable sufficient testing
• Work on multiple tasks in a software development environment
• Conduct analysis for system trouble shooting and analysis
• Improve code quality through code reviews and best practices
• Perform test and integration tasks in a lab environment on the product
• Willingness to travel 10% and perform field-work
