Job summary

VC3 is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Madison, WI to provide senior technical assistance to municipalities and organizations across the US and Canada. You will serve as an escalation point for the Service Desk and Tier 3 issues, guiding teams and ensuring proactive, data-driven service delivery.

The role requires deep IT expertise, strong problem-solving, and the ability to mentor others. Expect on-call rotations and ongoing professional development within a values-driven culture.

Qualifications

• 8+ years IT experience required or 2 years as VC3 Systems Engineer II.
• CCNA, VMware, or Microsoft 365/Azure certifications highly desired.
• Strong knowledge of current IT concepts, issues, practices and trends.
• Good problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to analyze complex issues.
• At least 8 years experience supporting customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical assistance and support to VC3 clients.
• Escalation point for Service Desk and escalation teams.
• Train and educate VC3 clients on technical standards.
• Mentor lower tier technical team members.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across LAN/WAN, servers, and workstations.
