Job summary

Adapt is hiring an engineer to own the computer underneath Adapt. This role focuses on systems that power customer workloads, sits in customer conversations, and ships user-facing features. You will work with a stack including Firecracker, gVisor, GCP, and Kubernetes.

You will need strong Linux skills, experience with multi-tenant compute, and the ability to balance engineering excellence with product outcomes in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• 4-7+ years of professional engineering experience, with a meaningful chunk on infrastructure.
• Experience at an early-stage startup where infrastructure was the product.
• Owned a multi-tenant compute or build system with isolation, reliability, and cost accountability.
• Mentored engineers without management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Own systems end-to-end from customer Slack to launch blog post.
• Ship features and improvements with a customer-centric approach.
• Tie infra work to product outcomes with measurable customer impact.
• Solve problems within existing constraints to optimize for all users.
• Engage in customer discovery to understand pain points and drive solutions.
• Write clear customer-focused communications for launches.
