Job summary

Wabtec Freight Services seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to lead architecture, integration, validation, and productization of next-gen robotics and automation for rail yard operations.

You will own system architecture, design reviews, safety, cybersecurity, validation, and readiness as the solution moves from R&D to production and commercial deployment. Strong cross-functional leadership and hands-on technical depth are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience creating and delivering complex integrated systems.
• Experience as system engineer/technical lead with hardware and software.
• Track record transitioning automation/robotics from development to production.
• Strong systems architecture, requirements, interfaces and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end system architecture, requirements and technical roadmap across subsystems.
• Lead architecture decisions for robotics, AI, embedded software, edge, cloud, sensors and networking.
• Define system performance, reliability, availability and maintainability requirements.
• Lead safety and cybersecurity reviews and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams andSupplier/partner interfaces to deliver an integrated solution.
• Own verification, validation strategy across simulation to field deployment.
• Support customer pilots, field deployments and lifecycle support.
