Job summary

New York Institute of Technology seeks a Systems Engineer to design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain the university’s systems infrastructure. The role collaborates with IT security and infrastructure teams to ensure production and test systems are highly available, secure, and well-documented.

The engineer will support Windows and Linux environments, M365 services, virtualization with Hyper-V, and HPC/LAN research computing, while mentoring staff and contributing to runbooks and incident

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of systems engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux and Windows on-prem and cloud administration.
• Active Directory, Office 365/TEAMS, and IT infrastructure support in higher education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage Microsoft, Linux, VDI, Backup, Cloud, and Systems Infrastructure.
• Manage Hyper-V virtualization infrastructure: deployment, configuration, monitoring, lifecycle, patching.
• Maintain Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID identity platforms; manage 365 environment incl. Exchange Online and Teams.
