Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to own administration, troubleshooting, and security of enterprise IT across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, and endpoints. You will be a hands-on senior contributor, coordinating with IT, Security, and vendors to deliver durable improvements.

You'll automate repeatable tasks with PowerShell, manage incidents in Jira ITSM, support 24x7 monitoring, and contribute to HITRUST/SOC 2 compliance efforts.

Qualifications

• Availability to work in person at the Atlanta, GA office.
• Five or more years of progressive experience in systems administration or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong hands-on administration experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Microsoft Defender, and enterprise endpoints.
• Practical experience troubleshooting TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN connectivity.
• Proficiency with PowerShell and automation; familiarity with Jira ITSM and incident, problem, and change management practices.
• Ability to prioritize technical work, document clearly, communicate with technical and nontechnical colleagues, and collaborate effectively during incidents and infrastructure changes.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive; resolve complex issues.
• Maintain Entra ID identities, groups, enterprise applications, SSO, MFA, and Conditional Access.
• Administer Intune device enrollment, configuration profiles, app deployment, and endpoint updates.
• Configure and maintain Defender protections; investigate endpoint alerts and containment actions.
• Provide general IT troubleshooting for Wi-Fi, LAN, internet, and VPN connectivity; coordinate resolutions with providers.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for identity, endpoints, collaboration services, and networks; use logs to isolate root causes.
• Use Jira ITSM to document incidents, service requests, problems, and changes; maintain technical notes and knowledge articles.
• Set up and troubleshoot office video conferencing equipment and meeting rooms; ensure Teams connectivity.
• Provision and configure employee IT equipment, user access, and network connectivity for onboarding.
