Job summary

Rethink First in Atlanta seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to administer, troubleshoot, and improve reliability and security of enterprise IT systems. You will support Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, endpoints, and network infrastructure while collaborating with IT, Security, and application teams.

This role is an escalation point for complex issues, involves automation with PowerShell, and requires hands‑on ownership without people management responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of progressive experience in systems administration or infrastructure engineering.
• Hands-on admin experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, and enterprise endpoints.
• Familiarity with DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPN connectivity.
• Proficient in PowerShell and automation; familiar with Jira ITSM and incident/change management.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or CS, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong communication skills with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive; resolve complex issues.
• Maintain Entra ID identities, groups, enterprise applications, SSO, MFA, and Conditional Access.
• Administer Intune enrollment, configuration profiles, app deployment, and compliance policies.
• Configure Defender protections; investigate endpoint alerts and containment/remediation.
• Troubleshoot Wi‑Fi, VPN, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and firewalls; coordinate complex resolutions.
• Serve as senior escalation point for identity, endpoints, collaboration, and networks; use logs to isolate root causes.
• Use Jira ITSM to document incidents, service requests, problems, and changes; update knowledge articles.
• Set up and troubleshoot office video conferencing equipment and Teams connectivity.
• Provision IT equipment, user access, and network for onboarding and office changes.
• Improve monitoring/alerting; work with NOC to address persistent issues in 24x7 environment.
• Participate in incident response; assist with post-incident reviews and corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation; ensure secure credentials.
• Plan upgrades, patches, migrations with testing, rollback, and post-change validation.
• Maintain system documentation, network diagrams, procedures, and recovery runbooks.
• Support HITRUST and SOC 2 activities with evidence collection and remediation.
• Collaborate with service desk, engineering, stakeholders, and vendors to resolve dependencies.
