Job summary

VT Group (VTG) seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to support mission-critical Government systems, managing complex requirements, architecture, and lifecycle activities. The candidate will work with government customers and cross-functional teams to ensure system integrity and verification across the lifecycle.

Requires DoDAF and SOA proficiency, extensive SE experience, and DoD 8570-compliant certification. US citizenship with TS/SCI and Poly is required; travel is expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• US Citizen with TS/SCI with Poly required.
• 12+ years of experience with software and system deployments, Linux system administration, containerization, cloud deployments, and DevSecOps.
• Demonstrated experience applying Systems Engineering principles throughout the system development lifecycle.
• Experience with DoDAF architectures and associated architectural views; SOA experience.
• Active DoD 8570-compliant certification (e.g., Security+).

Responsibilities

• Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure compatibility with defined system architectures (DoDAF & SOA).
• Translate stakeholder needs into system, functional, and technical requirements.
• Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level ones and ensure they are complete, verifiable, and traceable.
• Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation (ICDs, CONOPS, Requirements Specifications, Interface Control Documents).
• Develop system design solutions that satisfy requirements and perform analyses of alternatives.
• Define verification methods and plan verification activities early in development.
• Coordinate cross-functional engineering activities across hardware, software, systems, integration, and test teams.
• Provide technical direction for development, integration, interfacing, and testing of complex hardware/software systems.
