Job summary

Critical Solutions is seeking a Mid-System Engineer with an active Secret clearance to support a large-scale, geographically dispersed enterprise network at Pearl Harbor, HI. The role focuses on LAN/WAN/WLAN, boundary engineering, routing, switching, security, and Tier III troubleshooting.

The engineer will implement changes, maintain EIPs, manage configuration baselines, and collaborate in an SAFe environment using JIRA. DoD clearance and IAT II certification are required.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required; Top Secret eligible are preferred.
• DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, etc.).
• Subject Matter Expertise in BAN/LAN/WAN/WLAN and network boundary engineering.
• Extensive experience in highly technical network maintenance, troubleshooting, and engineering.
• Experience providing Tier III escalation support in large-scale enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to identify, troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex network issues.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot switches, routers, VLANs, APs, firewalls, and sensors.
• Provide engineering expertise and operational support for a large intranet environment.
• Serve as Tier III escalation resource; coordinate with vendors for incident resolution.
• Act as SME and escalation backstop across multiple network disciplines.
• Apply defense-in-depth principles to secure enterprise network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot routing, switching, SD-WAN, WLAN, MPLS, VPNs, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, multicast.
• Develop and maintain Engineering Implementation Plans (EIPs) for changes.
• Create and manage change tickets; document deployments and rollback procedures.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis to support problem management.
