Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer, SME – Level 4, to provide senior technical leadership and systems engineering support to the BMC3I mission in a complex DoD environment.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance, extensive DoD systems engineering experience, and ability to guide architecture, requirements, interfaces, and compliance across programs and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with SAP access required.
• 15+ years of systems engineering experience in DoD environments.
• Experience with system-of-systems integration and mission architecture.
• Experience developing and managing system requirements and interfaces.
• Experience supporting audits, assessments, and compliance activities.
• Knowledge of DoD engineering, cybersecurity, ITSM, risk management, and compliance processes.
• Ability to produce executive-level assessments and briefings.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior technical advisor to Government leadership on complex systems engineering, integration, and compliance activities supporting BMC3I.
• Lead system-of-systems engineering across programs, platforms, and mission partners.
• Develop and refine system requirements, baselines, interfaces, and architecture products.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, integration challenges, and performance gaps; propose mitigations.
• Support design reviews, requirements reviews, test readiness reviews, and other engineering decision forums.
• Evaluate system performance, interoperability, and mission effectiveness via analysis and testing.
• Coordinate with Government, contractors, labs, security personnel, and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Support interface management, data exchanges, and interoperability requirements.
• Provide oversight of contractor deliverables and technical approaches.
• Support test and evaluation planning, demonstrations, and verification activities.
• Serve as primary contact for audits and assessments, coordinating evidence requests and documentation.
• Maintain audit and compliance records, SOPs, risk logs, baselines, and corrective actions.
• Track audit findings and remediation actions to ensure readiness.
• Ensure data governance and configuration management align with audit requirements.
• Produce audit-readiness reports and executive-level recommendations.
