Job summary

GM Defense is seeking a Sr. System Engineer to lead and execute systems engineering activities across secure and regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field OR equivalent experience.
• 7+ yrs of experience delivering IT systems in a professional or corporate environment.
• Experience working independently on significant technical matters with the ability to develop solutions and drive across teams.
• Experience gathering requirements and supporting solution design with multiple technical teams.
• Experience in systems engineering, infrastructure support, application support, or security operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop requirements, coordinate with partner support teams, execute tasks, deliver solutions, and provide lifecycle support.
• Collaborate with IT enterprise architecture to improve applications, tools, and solutions while complying with cybersecurity controls.
• Support cleared and controlled systems and maintain secure, compliant environments.
• Manage operational health of information systems including patching, upgrades, maintenance, and incident resolution.
• Monitor and document security controls and support audit activities.
• Create self-help tools, guides, and knowledge articles to improve customer interactions.
• Serve as a point of contact for customers and internal IT teams to organize workstreams and resolve issues.
• Develop tools and processes to maintain secure operational health of the environment.
• Lead triage sessions and coordinate cross-functional workstreams to resolve incidents and systemic problems.
• Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and translate challenges into implementable solutions.
