Job summary

GM Defense IT is seeking a Staff Enterprise Architect to define the target-state architecture, standards, and transition plans for a scalable, compliant IT ecosystem. This role will guide architecture direction and establish roadmaps across multiple domains.

You will partner with cybersecurity, export compliance, infrastructure, SAP, and delivery teams to balance security, compliance, and speed of delivery while leading large, cross-functional programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, engineering, or computer science.
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture.
• Experience defining end-to-end architectures for complex enterprise solutions.
• Experience establishing architecture direction, standards, and roadmaps.
• Experience architecting secure or highly controlled environments with strong identity, access, and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Lead architect for GM Defense initiatives, including secure environment capabilities, enterprise applications, integrations, and supporting platforms.
• Define high-level architecture structures, principles, standards, guardrails, and decision frameworks guiding technology direction.
• Partner with stakeholders across cybersecurity, compliance, infrastructure, SAP, and delivery teams to align on architecture direction.
• Analyze trade-offs, validate assumptions, and recommend options balancing compliance, scalability, and speed of delivery.
• Lead inventory, classification, current-state disposition, target-state decisioning, and migration planning for GM Defense applications.
• Define architecture decision frameworks and guide strategic choices across platforms and hosting models.
• Own target-state architecture and enterprise roadmap to reduce operating friction and support growth.
• Lead architecture efforts related to security, compliance, access management, and data protection in regulated environments.
• Define roadmaps, standards, and transition plans enabling execution with reduced risk.
