Job summary

GM Defense is seeking a Staff System Analyst to lead complex business and technology initiatives across Manufacturing, SAP, and Vehicle Engineering. You will translate stakeholder needs into functional and technical requirements and backlogs for software teams, serving as the SME on respective projects.

The role demands senior leadership, collaboration across multiple domains, and the ability to drive execution while adhering to defense industry standards in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years as a systems analyst, business systems analyst, related IT/business transformation role, IT software applications, requirements definition, process definition, testing, and IT Strategy and roadmap development.
• Experience in regulated or government-contract environments (defense, aerospace, or other regulated industries).
• Experience leading large, complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
• Proven leadership experience in taking charge to drive completion of work.
• Experience gathering requirements, conducting data gathering and analysis to understand business strategy requirements, driving to a solution design, and drive execution.
• Demonstrated experience working across business and technical teams to implement system or process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead major cross-functional initiatives that support GM Defense business and engineering priorities.
• Partner with business, engineering, manufacturing, SAP, supply chain, and IT stakeholders to define needs, evaluate options, and deliver scalable solutions.
• Partner with IT security leadership, legal, and export compliance, to support cleared and controlled system solutions and help maintain secure, compliant environments.
• Analyze complex business processes and system requirements and translate them into actionable solution designs.
• Drive improvements to business processes, system capabilities, data flows, and operational methods.
• Serve as a subject matter expert within assigned domain areas and provide guidance to project teams and business leaders.
• Identify risks, dependencies, compliance considerations, and integration impacts across initiatives.
• Support delivery of solutions that meet GM standards while also addressing government defense and other government-regulated program contract requirements.
• Influence adoption of new processes, tools, and ways of working across multiple stakeholder groups.
