Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Cloud Data Pipeline (CDP) for the U.S. Coast Guard in a fully remote role. The candidate will implement, maintain, and sustain the CDP across designated environments using Confluent Kafka and related technologies.

The ideal candidate has 9+ years of experience, DoD 8570 IAT II certification, strong Linux skills, and proficiency in Java, .NET or Python. U.S. citizenship and active Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• High School with 9+ years (or commensurate experience).
• Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification in good standing required (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP).
• Programming proficiency in Java, .NET, or Python.
• Strong Linux system administration background.
• Experience with the Confluent platform and Apache Kafka for enterprise data streaming.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the Cloud Data Pipeline (CDP) within USCG cloud environments.
• Plan and execute maintenance tasks to ensure uptime of the CDP.
• Provide lifecycle sustainment guidance and engineering oversight for long-term modernization.
