Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Cloud Data Pipeline for the U.S. Coast Guard.

This fully remote role focuses on implementing and sustaining CDP in USCG environments using Confluent and Kafka, with emphasis on data ingestion, sharing, and security compliance. Qualifications include DoD 8570 IAT II certification, advanced programming in Java/.NET/Python, and strong Linux and Kafka experience.

Qualifications

• Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification in good standing.
• Advanced programming in Java, .NET or Python.
• Strong Linux system administration background.
• Experience with Confluent platform and Apache Kafka for enterprise data streaming.
• Ability to complete PUMP RBAC process for USCG access.
• Solid understanding of configuration management and system architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end CDP implementation, maintenance, and sustainment for USCG environments.
• Plan tasks, ensure data ingestion/sharing and compliance with standards.
• Provide technical oversight for long-term sustainment and modernization.
