Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Cloud Data Pipeline (CDP) for the U.S. Coast Guard, leveraging Confluent and Kafka to reduce silos and enable enterprise data discovery.

This is a 100% remote position with national scope, offering a competitive salary and opportunities to work across federal cloud environments. The role requires DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification, strong Java/.NET/Python skills, Linux expertise, and experience with Confluent/Kafka for enterprise data

Qualifications

• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP).
• Proficiency in Java, .NET, or Python.
• Strong Linux background and system administration.
• Experience with Confluent Platform and Apache Kafka for enterprise data streaming.
• Ability to complete USCG PUMP RBAC process for privileged access.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end implementation and deployment of the Cloud Data Pipeline (CDP) in USCG-designated environments.
• Maintain data ingestion and sharing across source/recipient networks within the CDP ecosystem.
• Ensure compliance with USCG software standards during deployment and lifecycle maintenance.
