Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Cloud Data Pipeline (CDP) for the U.S. Coast Guard, with enterprise data ingestion and sharing across the IDE.

This is a 100% remote role focusing on implementation, maintenance, and sustainment of the CDP in USCG environments. The role requires DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification, strong Java/.NET/Python programming, Linux admin experience, and expertise with Confluent Kafka.

Qualifications

• Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II cert in good standing (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP).
• Advanced hands-on programming in Java, .NET, or Python.
• Strong Linux system administration background.
• Experience with Confluent platform and Apache Kafka for enterprise data streaming.
• Ability to complete USCG PUMP RBAC process for an admin account.
• Expert understanding of configuration management, requirements analysis, and system architecture.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute deployment of the CDP within USCG-designated cloud environments.
• Ensure data ingestion/sharing across source/recipient systems and the CDP.
• Maintain uptime and perform routine/unplanned maintenance in USCG environments.
• Provide lifecycle sustainment planning for modernization of the CDP.
• Manage complex administrative configurations and performance tuning.
