Job summary

Uber is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in the Autonomous Mobility & Delivery group to shape the future of autonomous transportation. You will oversee the safety of technical frameworks enabling Uber to integrate with AV partners while advancing internal autonomous offerings.

You will lead safety requirements, V&V strategies, and risk assessments, and influence strategic decisions to ensure technical feasibility and safety remain central to the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field and 7+ years of systems engineering experience.
• Experience in autonomous vehicle safety-critical environments and ISO/26262 familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Define partner-agnostic safety solutions and standardize frameworks for diverse AV providers.
• Define safety requirements for Uber's autonomous offerings and document high-level requirements.
• Develop V&V strategies for internal solutions and external AV integrations.
• Lead safety risk assessments to meet Uber safety and performance standards.
• Influence long-term product roadmaps and strategic partnerships with a safety focus.
• Apply AI/ML approaches to enhance safety validation with proper oversight.
