Job summary

ContinuServe seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to oversee day-to-day client infrastructure both on-site and remotely. You will support a diverse set of environments, ensuring high availability and robust security across Windows networks, AD, Exchange, and cloud services in a fast-paced MSP setting.

You will work with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), various backup and security solutions, and collaborate with service managers and engineers to drive excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT experience in managing Windows networks and servers.
• Experience with AD, Exchange, and Office 365 administration.
• Hands-on with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and hardware (HP, Dell).
• Familiar with firewalls, switches, and wireless APs (Cisco Meraki, Fortinet).
• Experience with cloud backups and cloud services (O365, GoDaddy, G-Suite).

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support of client networks, servers, storage, and infrastructure.
• Maintain client IT infrastructure remotely and on-site as needed.
• Architect and implement IT projects: high-availability, virtualization, cloud services.
• Escalation path for issues beyond level-1 support.
• Collaborate with managers and engineers to meet SLAs and deliver value.

We have an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to support our San Jose and Bay Area customers. This role requires on-site work at client locations approximately 70–80% of the time.

The Position:

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day technology infrastructure at client sites and via remote support to support a wide array of customers and their operational and technology needs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide day to day support of client networks, servers, storage, and overall infrastructure.
• Maintain our clients' IT infrastructure both remotely and at customer site(s) when needed.
• Help architect and implement a wide range of IT projects, such as high-availability, virtualization, and cloud services.
• Be the escalation path for issues that desktop engineers or helpdesk staff are not able to resolve.
• Work closely with Managers, Service Coordinators, and other Engineers to meet customer service-level commitments, and provide world-class customer service.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network and system issues, remote or on premise as needed.
• Positively and professionally represent the face of the company with our clients.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• 5+ years of experience with administering, configuring, optimizing, and maintaining Windows-based networks and servers.
• Strong experience with Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365 administration, and Windows security.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, switches and wireless access points (Cisco Meraki, HP, Dell SonicWALL, Fortinet).
• Hands-on experience with heavily virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Hands-on experience with physical servers (HP, Dell).
• Hands-on experience withon-premisesand cloud-based backup solutions (Axcient, Barracuda, Datto, Dell Druva), cloud-based email systems (O365, Intermedia, GoDaddy, G‑Suite).
• Hands-on experience with Email Security Solutions (Proofpoint, Barracuda).
• Hands-on experience with cloud managed EDR and XDR solutions (SentinelOne, TrendMicro)
• Hands-on experience with ticket systems and RMM tools (ConnectWise, Barracuda, N‑Able).
• Hands-on experience with the cloud VoIP solutions (intermedia, RingCentral, 8x8)
• Self‑motivated and able to work with limited supervision, and excellent time management.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• CCNA or equivalent network experience is desired.
• MSCE or equivalent server experience is desired.
• Technical Certifications a definite plus.

Experience:

• A.S. or B.S. in information systems or related field is preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience working in information technology is required.
