Job summary

T-Mobile is seeking a Sr Engineer, Systems Architecture to develop enterprise virtualization and platform architectures across OpenShift, Kubernetes, and VMware environments. You will shape detailed schematics, design decisions, and implementation processes with a focus on performance and scalability.

The role emphasizes knowledge sharing, documentation, and mentoring, with a culture of innovation and agile practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of related work experience or Advanced degree with 3 years of related experience (Required).
• Acceptable areas of study include Computer Science or Engineering or related field (Required).
• 5+ Years Technical engineering experience (Required).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of complex virtualization and platform architecture strategies to enhance technology infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation to clearly communicate platform designs, Kubernetes-based virtualization concepts, and operational standards.
• Evaluate and interpret platform metrics, testing outcomes, and workload performance to inform architecture improvements and technology adoption.
• Collaborate with technical teams to develop and implement engineering solutions across OpenShift, Kubernetes, and VMware platforms that meet business requirements.
• Contribute to the design and operationalization of OpenShift Virtualization, including VM lifecycle management and platform integration (compute, storage, networking).
• Mentor and support the development of associate engineers through knowledge sharing and technical guidance.
• Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed.
