Job summary

Tabush Group is seeking a Senior Systems and Network Engineer for a NYC-based MSP. The role is full-time and hybrid, based in our New York City office, with a focus on leading complex troubleshooting across networks, servers, and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate has extensive MSP/enterprise IT experience, deep Microsoft 365 knowledge, virtualization, and strong scripting abilities to automate operations. You will mentor junior engineers and drive security, backup, and DR initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years MSP or enterprise IT experience.
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite and Entra ID.
• Strong Windows Server, AD, and Azure experience.
• Advanced networking including firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, SD-WAN, wireless.
• Proven virtualization experience with VMware and Hyper-V.
• Automation experience with PowerShell or similar scripting.
• Experience with MSP tech stack (RMM/PSA/EDR/MDR).
• Security best practices and incident response.
• Ability to work independently and mentor others.
• Strong documentation skills and clear communication with technical and non-technical people.
• Certifications such as CCNA, Microsoft, or firewall vendor certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis on complex infrastructure issues.
• Configure and manage firewalls, switches, VPNs, and wireless.
• Manage network security, including segmentation, IDS/IPS, and content filtering.
• Administer backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Manage Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Manage core Windows Server services: Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
• Secure user access with MFA, Conditional Access, SSO, and role-based access.
• Manage and improve MSP tool stack, including RMM, PSA, EDR, and MDR platforms.
• Build automation and scripts (PowerShell or similar) to reduce manual work and improve operations.
• Respond to critical alerts, outages, and escalations.
• Take ownership of complex issues and drive them through to resolution.
• Serve as the top escalation point and mentor junior engineers.
• Write clear SOPs, runbooks, and network diagrams, and keep detailed ticket notes.

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in MSP or enterprise IT role
• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Entra ID, Intune, SharePoint, Teams)
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Azure
• Advanced networking knowledge: firewalls, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, SD-WAN, and wireless
• Hands-on experience with backup and disaster recovery (Datto, Veeam, or similar)
• Strong background in virtualization (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V), including clustering and high availability
• Experience with the full MSP stack: RMM, PSA, EDR, and MDR (Autotask, Datto RMM, ConnectWise, N-central, Auvik, SentinelOne, Huntress, or similar)
• Proven automation experience with PowerShell or other scripting tools
• Solid understanding of security best practices
• Some Linux experience is a plus
• Able to work independently, lead complex issues, and own them from start to finish
• Strong documentation skills and clear communication with technical and non-technical people
