Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to support Medicaid/CHIP systems. The role requires senior-level analysis, collaboration with business and technical stakeholders, and ability to guide enterprise IT initiatives.

The successful candidate will work on multi‑year roadmaps, design technical diagrams, and coordinate cross‑functional teams. Telework is eligible; periodic after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, or a related field.
• Five (5) or more years of experience supporting Java/J2EE application developers.
• Experience with enterprise-level systems and batch processing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports application developers and assists with application deliverables, systems maintenance, batch processing, security and risk assessments, testing, and program troubleshooting.
• Plans and tracks project deliverables, participates in Agile sprint activities, and reports progress on assigned technical tasks.
• Participates in system design, planning, implementation, production support, and customer service activities for custom and commercial software systems.
• Coordinates and prepares plans, schedules, assignments, and analysis and programming activities.
• Establishes technical policies, procedures, and standards to support HHSC standardization efforts for Medicaid and CHIP systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
