Job summary

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi seeks a Senior Systems Claims Analyst for its EDI Department to drive reliable mainframe integrations and data flows across Mississippi.

You will analyze requirements, maintain EDI systems, and serve as SME for EDI. Ideal candidates bring COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2 experience, plus strong communication and problem-solving skills to support healthcare delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other related field.
• Seven years of programming experience in COBOL, MVS utilities, MVS JCL, and CICS Command Level programming.
• Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Five years of system analysis and design experience.
• Competent in developing COBOL programs that interact with DB2 databases.
• Top-tier communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with coworkers, managers and customers; conveying information clearly, listening carefully and providing guidance.
• Exceptional critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks while effectively organizing tasks and time.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements while creating technical specifications, and developing mainframe applications, interfaces, and databases.
• Maintain EDI systems, including production on call support and technical issue resolution.
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert for EDI systems.
• Provide expert consultative assistance to Applications management and staff.
• Design, develop, and maintain EDI server processes.
