Job summary

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to analyze business needs, translate them into technical specifications, and build mainframe applications, interfaces, and databases. You will maintain claims systems and provide on-call production support and issue resolution.

You will act as a technical expert for claims systems and consult with Applications management, guiding releases for the Federal Employee Program and BlueCard National Program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Math, or related field.
• 7+ years of programming experience.
• 5+ years of system analysis and design experience.
• Proficient in COBOL, JCL, CICS, MVS, DB2, and SDLC.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Familiar with Business Writing, Project Management, Time Management, Conflict Resolution and Teamwork.

Responsibilities

Job-Specific Requirements:

• A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field is required.
• At least 7 years of programming experience is required.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of system analysis and design experience.
• Must be competent in COBOL, JCL, CICS, MVS, DB2, and SDLC.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio is required.
• Must demonstrate familiarity with Business Writing, Project Management, Time Management and Conflict Resolution and Teamwork concepts and practice.
• Experience in Project Management is preferred.
