Job summary

Agate Software, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Senior Systems Administrator to build and modernize our Windows and Azure environments. You will own and enhance critical infrastructure, from AD and DNS to Entra ID and Microsoft 365, with a focus on security, automation, and reliability.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of hands-on systems administration in a production environment.
• Strong Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, networking, and Microsoft 365 experience.
• Hands-on cloud administration experience, ideally with Microsoft Azure.
• Practical PowerShell automation experience.
• Security-minded, autonomous, and able to troubleshoot complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and related infrastructure.
• Administer and expand Azure environment across compute, networking, storage, monitoring, backup, and identity.
• Modernize aging infrastructure and shape evolving cloud architecture.
• Automate repetitive administration and reporting using PowerShell and other tools.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, identify root causes, and implement durable solutions.
• Strengthen security, patching, vulnerability remediation, backup, recovery, and resilience.
• Collaborate with Security, Development, Service Desk, and business teams on infrastructure projects.
