Job description

Job Summary:

In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is responsible for system build, testing, validation, and ongoing support of assigned applications. This position will possess clinical or IT systems knowledge and experience to develop and support safe and high-quality care using the electronic health record. The role involves in-depth investigation and documentation of future-state operational specifications and application functionality, analyzing workflows, data collection, report details, and clinical or technical issues related to Epic software. The position also develops and documents internal procedures for use with Epic applications. Key challenges include analyzing clinical and business operations, investigating user preferences, prioritizing and implementing system changes, and serving as a liaison between end users, third parties, and Epic implementation staff. Additionally, the role involves analyzing new releases, testing updates, and supporting continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Work Management: Complete assignments by applying current knowledge, following procedures, collaborating cross-functionally, supporting project priorities, communicating progress, and identifying improvement opportunities.
  2. Professional Development and Collaboration: Share resources and knowledge, seek feedback, assess personal strengths and weaknesses, respond to team needs, and adapt to change and feedback.
  3. Timely Delivery: Meet deadlines to deliver sustainable and prompt solutions.
  4. System Support: Provide first and second-level support for enterprise systems by diagnosing and resolving complex incidents to minimize issues.
  5. System Monitoring and Improvement: Support system stability, availability, and performance through monitoring and trend analysis.
  6. Issue Resolution: Assist team members in resolving system and application issues.
  7. Escalation: Escalate issues, risks, or problems to lead administrators per process.
  8. System Configuration: Plan and perform complex system configurations.
  9. Communication and Feedback: Engage with users and vendors to share information, resolve problems, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  10. Maintenance and Upgrades: Define, test, and support maintenance, refresh activities, and participate in installation, upgrade, or decommissioning processes.
  11. Application Support: Support administration and technical support for production and non-production environments, including vendor interactions.
  12. Performance Optimization: Recommend and execute tuning activities.
  13. Documentation: Create and review documentation for system configurations and procedures.
