Job description

Job Summary:

In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is responsible for system build, testing, validation, and ongoing support of assigned applications. The candidate should possess clinical or IT systems knowledge and experience to develop and support safe and high-quality care using the electronic health record. This role involves in-depth investigation and documentation of operational specifications and application functionality, analyzing workflows, data collection, report details, and technical issues related to Epic software. The position includes developing and documenting internal procedures for Epic applications, analyzing clinical and business operations, prioritizing system changes, and serving as a liaison between end users, third parties, and Epic implementation staff. The role also involves testing new releases and analyzing functionality.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Complete work assignments by applying current knowledge, following procedures, collaborating cross-functionally, supporting project priorities, communicating progress, and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Pursue self-development and foster effective relationships by sharing resources, seeking feedback, acknowledging strengths and weaknesses, and adapting to change.
  • Meet deadlines to deliver sustainable and prompt solutions.
  • Provide first and second level support for enterprise systems, diagnosing and resolving complex incidents.
  • Support system stability, availability, and performance through monitoring and trend analysis.
  • Assist team members in resolving system and application issues.
  • Escalate issues to lead administrators as needed.
  • Plan and perform complex system configurations.
  • Communicate with users and suppliers to share information, resolve problems, and improve processes.
  • Define and test maintenance and refresh activities.
  • Participate in installation, upgrade, or decommissioning activities.
  • Support application administration and technical support in various environments.
  • Support vendor activities as appropriate.
  • Recommend and execute performance tuning activities.
  • Create and review documentation of system configurations and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least two (2) years of experience with EPIC or comparable health system software, or two (2) years of scripting or programming experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Social Science, Education, Business, Healthcare, or related field, with a minimum of three (3) years of IT or operations experience; additional work experience may substitute for degree requirements.
